This magnificent mahogany cased 8 day clock would grace any family home and standing 2.22m (87.5") tall, would be particularly impressive greeting visitors in the hallway of a Victorian property.
The painted dial attributes the clockmaker to H. Daniels, Liverpool c. 1824 -1851. It has a handsome, hand-painted rolling moon with subsidiary second and date dials. The painted face has Roman numerals and the full colour corner decoration is beautifully balanced, with charming mirror images of a country gentleman making his way towards the quiet haven of a hillside church.
This wonderful heirloom has a reassuring, stately tick and strikes every hour on it's original bell. Imagine future generations hearing the same 12 strikes as they greet the New Year - a magical family connection.
